HBA members featured picks in Sauce magazine's "Readers' Choice 2010"

The readers of St. Louis' original foodie magazine have spoken!

And in speaking, they have honored a number of Hill Business Association Members as part of Sauce Magazine's 2010 "Readers' Choice" feature!

The picks are:

Amighetti's Bakery and Cafe, 3rd place for Favorite Deli/Sandwiches.

Gelato di Riso, Honorable mention for Favorite Frozen Desserts.

Sandrina's, Honorable mention for Favorite Late-Night Menu.

O'Connell's Pub, 2nd Place for Favorite Pub Grub.

Anthonino's Taverna, Honorable Mention for Best Greek.

Cunetto's House of Pasta, 2nd Place for Best Italian.

Favazza's, Honorable mention for Best Italian.

Pasta House, Best Chain for Best Italian.

Guido's Pizzeria and Tapas, 3rd Place for Best Spanish.

Di Gregorio's Market, 2nd Place for Favorite Specialty Food Shop. Di Gregorio's also placed 2nd for Favorite Gourmet Grocery and 2nd place for Favorite International Market.

J. Viviano and Son, Inc., 3rd Place for Favorite International Market.

Shaw's Coffee Ltd., 3rd Place for Favorite Coffee Roaster.

Missouri Baking Company, Honorable Mention for Favorite Local Bread. Missouri Baking Company also placed 2nd for Favorite Cakes and Pastries.

Bertarelli Cutlery, 3rd Place for Favorite Kitchenware Store.

Founder of members Bertarelli Cutlery, the St. Louis Bocce Club passes away

The Hill Business Association would like to extend our condolences to the Bertarelli family, owners of member Bertarelli Cutlery.

Felice Bertarelli, founder of the kitchen supply store and knife sharpening enterprise, passed away recently at his home in Carisolo, Italy.

Felice was also one of the founders of the St. Louis Bocce Club, another proud Hill tradition and HBA member.

Our hearts and sympathies are with the Bertarelli family at this sad time.

Donations in Felice's honor may be made to the Sick and Elderly of the Hill Fund, 2315 Macklind Ave., St. Louis, MO 63110.

Congratulations to members Joey B's on the Hill, Gioia's Deli, and Lorenzo's Trattoria for making Riverfront Times food critic Ian Froeb's "100 Favorite St. Louis Dishes!" list in the paper's "Gut Check" section!"

Party in the Park a hit!

The night was beautiful, the music was smooth and we could not have had more fun at the second annual "Party in the Park!"

Attendance was even greater at this year's Party as friends and neighbors sampled great food and drink from our member vendors.

The artists from Boogie Child serendaded us and got us on our feet while the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department's Helicopter unit delighted children and adults alike by alighting in Berra Park!

The Hill Business Association would like to thank our sponsors, participating members and all who turned out for another great Party!

We can't wait until next year!

Please join us for the first General Membership event of 2010!

We'll have special guest Brian Hall from the St. Louis Convention and Visitors Commission with us and we look forward to Brian sharing his expertise and insights with us.

Brian, the commission's chief marketing officer, will speak about how the commission markets St. Louis and what role new signage will play in bringing new visitors to The Hill.

The meeting will run from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

There will complimentary drinks and delicious appetizers prepared by our wonderful host member.

We can't wait to see you to kick off our new year!
